Here are answers to some
common questions:
What
are the advantages of these self-watering pots?
1. Violets tend to grow larger, faster, and bloom more profusely,
for longer periods of time.
2. Less frequent watering; ease of watering.
3. A great gift for those with green thumbs.
4. A great gift for those (like myself) who do not have green thumbs.
5. If directions are followed, the planters are pretty much foolproof.
6. Once your plant is established, the planters are pretty forgiving if you
stretch
watering sessions a bit too far apart. (The voice of
experience talking here!)
What
size pot should I buy?
The most common size pot in which African violets are sold is 4".
If you have a 3" plant - The small Ruffle pot will hold it.
If you have a 4" plant - All of the medium pots will hold it.
If you have a 5" plant - Both of the large pots will hold it.
If you have a 6" plant - The extra large Victorian pot will
hold it. Our Medium planter is the basic size; most of our
plants stay in that
size planter permanently. If it starts to grow too big, we remove
3-4
of the outer leaves each month. About 25% of our plants are
eventually
transplanted to a larger planter.
What
are the dimensions of the various pots?
The approximate outside dimensions are as follows:
Ruffle - Small - 5-3/4" wide x 4-1/2" high
Ruffle - Medium - 6-1/2" wide x 5" high
Victorian - Medium - 6-3/4" wide x 4" high
Victorian - Large - 8-1/2" wide x 5-1/4" high
Victorian - Extra-Large - 12" wide x 6-1/4" high
Multi-Sided - Medium - 6-1/2" wide x 4-1/2" high
Square - Medium - 6-1/2" wide x 5" high
Square - Large - 8" wide x 5-1/4" high How

URL bar at the top of your browser window. The first characters in this line
will be "https://" when a secure connection is established, as opposed
to the "http://" that appears when your connection is not secure. In
addition, a "locked padlock" or "key" icon should appear at
the bottom of most types of browser windows when a connection is secure.
